Apply to be a CSSA Residential Advisor!
If you are interested in mentoring newly admitted CAMP Scholars in STEM by sharing your journey, the lessons you have learned, and strengthening your leadership skills, then please consider applying to become a CAMP Summer Science Academy (CSSA) Resident Advisor (RA)! The RA application is now open. This is a paid opportunity with room and board provided throughout the duration of programming. Rising juniors and seniors are encouraged to apply. Please bring your completed application to the CAMP Office. We are open Monday thru Friday from 8:00AM-5:00PM. The deadline to submit the completed application and supporting documents is Friday, April 26th, 2024. Interviews will take place May 6-15, 2024. U.S. Department of Energy Opportunities Presentation
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) was on campus to present exclusively to CAMP Scholars on March 7, 2024. CAMP Students learned about various opportunities with department and how to apply. Program Manager, Cristina Cordero presented on the Science, Technology and Policy Program and the Mickey Leland Energy Fellowship Program. What a great opportunity!
GRE Preparatory Course
The 2024 GRE Preparatory Course ended on March 8, 2024. CAMP sponsored fourteen Scholars that had the opportunity to attend weekly sessions and engage in virtual activities led by the Princeton Review.

Medical Device Development Bootcamp
The Medical Device Development Bootcamp (MDD) at Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) in Claremont, CA, is an experiential learning opportunity for students interested in learning the process of designing, prototyping, and manufacturing medical devices. It is offered in two formats: 1) a two-week online program leading to a certificate in medical device design, and 2) a five-week in-person program leading to a certificate in medical device prototype development. Dartmouth’s Academic Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (ASURE) provides summer research experience to undergraduates. The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program supports active research participation by undergraduate students in any of the areas of research funded by the National Science Foundation. REU projects involve students in meaningful ways in ongoing research programs or in research projects specifically designed for the REU program. Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI)
The Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) Program is now open for applications for the Fall 2024 term. Each year, students from around the country participate in SULI at one of the 17 participating DOE laboratories/facilities. SULI is a paid internship opportunity sponsored and managed by the DOE Office of Science’s Office of Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists (WDTS) in collaboration with DOE laboratories/facilities. Students can participate in SULI either in a 10-week summer internship (May–August) or in a semester-long experience (August–December or January–May). Click here to learn more and apply.

JPL Maximizing Student Potential in STEM
Maximizing Student Potential in STEM, or MSP, offers part-time and full-time internship opportunities at JPL to underrepresented students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in STEM. JPL is now offering both on-site and remote internships as projects allow. As part of their internships, students are partnered with JPL scientists or engineers, who serve as the students’ mentors. Students complete designated projects outlined by their mentors, gaining educational experience in their fields of study while also contributing to NASA and JPL missions and science.

Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) at Boston University
The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program at Boston University is designed to promote access to graduate education for talented undergraduate students, especially those from minority groups, traditionally underrepresented in the sciences. It is open to non-BU students who are rising juniors or rising seniors and wish to conduct research in the sciences or technology fields. Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP)
The Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) is a research fellowship for UCI undergraduate students. It is aimed at students with some prior research experience who plan to continue an intensive, faculty mentored research experience over the summer. The fellowships are typically for 10 weeks, with a commitment of 20 hours per week. However, the total time commitment is flexible and should be appropriate for the proposed project. Community Energy Fellowship Program
The Community Energy Fellowship Program (CEFP) sponsors candidates from diverse backgrounds to spend 18 months embedded in state, local, and tribal governments (Hosts) learning about and assisting in the implementation of clean energy projects and programs. Fellows will be matched with one or more local or tribal governments to apply their knowledge and experiences to the Host’s current activities. Fellows will gain experience around energy technology areas such as energy efficiency, electric vehicle technology or renewable energy deployment to local, state and tribal governments as well as gain valuable insight into the government’s role in the creation and implementation of policies and programs that affect clean energy technology developments. Did You Know…
Did you know that the UCI Department of Chemistry offers FREE peer tutoring via Zoom to students taking General Chemistry courses such as Chem 1A or Chem 1B. The department also has another set of peer tutors that can assist with Organic Chemistry (Chem 51B). It is important to utilize these resources as they are meant to help you be successful in the course! The Department of Physics also has free tutoring for Physics 2, 7 series, and 3 series. The tutors are the teaching assistants (TAs) for the courses. Additionally, the Department of Mathematics also has TAs and graduate students offering free virtual tutoring for Math 1A/1B and Math 2A/2B.

Prior to n- Lorem, Dr. Crooke founded and was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and Lead Scientist of Ionis Pharmaceuticals.
